BUDGET!! That is the first "badge" I will be tackling. I am sorry that it is not very exciting, and a horrible choice if I am trying to attract readers, but it is necessary. This is something I have been working on for a long time, but I NEVER stick with it for long.
I am a little ahead of the game because I have already read, honestly skimmed, Dave Ramesy's "Money Makeover" book so I know my plan of attack. I even have all my little envelopes ready to go for my grocery, gas,and spending money! These envelopes have sat safely in my desk drawer for the last year, so I know right where to find them.
What I don't have handy is much will-power. There always seems to be a great reason why we should deviate from the budget. Dinner out with family, a GREAT deal on scrap-booking supplies, holidays, birthdays..the list is endless.
Part of my plan will include listening to my guru, Buzz-Kill Dave, daily. It's like reading the Bible daily..I'll be stronger if it's pounded in my head on a daily basis. That's the plan anyway.
First off: I will drag out all the bills tonight and give myself a big dose of reality...I will be honest with myself about where we are currently and then I will begin to take steps to get us where we really want to be financially.
